Brief History

The breed was created in Beveren, Belgium in the 1800's. It was a cross between Brabanconne, St. Nicolas Blue, and the Blue Vienna rabbits. In 1905 it was brought into Britain where it gained great popularity. Today the Bevern see very little presence in the United States.
