St Clair County 4-H & Youth Fair ? Best in Metro Detroit?
For the past several years we have been a part of the St Clair County 4-H & Youth Fair. Every year has been a joy! It seems that the fair gets better and better each year. This year topped all previous years. We had record attendance and just a fabulous time. I have had the [...]

The Cutest Bunny
Anyone raising dwarf rabbit breeds has experienced peanuts in their litters. They are generally easily identified at birth. Rarely do they live past a week. Sadly, they wither away. About three weeks ago we had a jersey wooly peanut born. As is our custom we let life take its course. This time though things transpired [...]

Molty Goodness
I've been wanting to update my website with some new pictures- however it's impossible! All the seniors are in funky molts and all the juniors are molting or in their uglies! It's sad, because I really want to get more of my herd up on the website. I guess it is just going to have to wait though. In the meantime, here are a few of the "uglies" babies that are floating around.Keep's Triumph- a wooled himi.Just kidding! Here he is posed up. Note that incredible molt?! His color is all kinds of ...

Exciting!
Was spending time in the rabbitry this evening and I noticed this little doe staring at me while striking a pose. I had to setup a makeshift backdrop and snap away. Filed under: Does Tagged: Animals, holland lop, Holland Lops, life, News, Pet, pets, Photography, rabbit, rabbits, Tru-Luv Wilma

YAY!
I got a couple does bred last night! Yay! The bucks both got their ladies three times, which always makes me feel better. The girls have been on a special "babymaker" conditioner that a friend shared with me- though I'm not allowed to share what's in it.My next litters aren't due until September 11th. I guess it's a good thing that I have a large break in between my litters (the last one being born about a week ago). It'll give me a chance to move out some animals! I'm trying to get star...

A great showing at VIEX, and winding down the summer
Last weekend was the VIEX, my favorite show of the year. Although this year was a little more stressful then most. My truck was broken into and they tried to hotwire it. Thankfully my beautiful Golden Retriever Luke barked and scared whoever it was, off. I then bought an alarm to install into the truck to better protect it. I also told my family I should get a 150lb Rottweiller like my old guy Harley was lol! Okay, maybe I just want another Rottweiler one day!As well, when Luke and I went for...

Ouch, my crap hole hurts!
As a continuation of my posts entitled, Chopped Hay Is Junk! & Karate Chopped Hay Anyone?, I read that there has been an issue of wasted “unchopped” hay. What I learn from raising pets so far whether it is rabbits or otherwise, is that, creativity is much needed most of the time and problem solving [...]

Lark Update
Well, here is the long overdue update on the wooly doe bred by the belgian buck. She never nested, never kindled. However, upon palpating her again (she's over a week overdue), I still can feel something in there. Her belly is big and she just feels pregnant in general..I suspect that I was successful in terminating the kit(s), but unfortunately she never triggered to go in to labor and since she is eating well and active, I suspect that the kit(s) have mummified.Just perfect.I have two opti...

If Islam is a religion of peace...
... why is it that they don't police themselves? Why are they putting up mosques where they aren't wanted or needed, instead of banding together and attacking the terrorists within them?So I wanted to elaborate on this further. Do I hate Islam? No. I do not respect it, however. I've seen the videos by major news networks of Iraqis and Afghanis - among others - who teach their children in school about how evil the US is. They go right on camera and freely profess it. We, OTOH, do not teach ou...

Family Portrait
Just got the inspiration to capture family portraits of 3 generations of Hollands in my rabbitry at the moment. While snapping the photos, I felt that it was something really special. It wasn’t easy getting them all to pose at the same time and there are many misses during the session. But here’s a few [...]

Getting overwhelmed
I'm trying to establish a routine. Now that I am thankfully employed again, Tim and I have been frantically searching for a second car. We've checked out probably every decent used car in several counties and unfortunately we've been screwed over trying to buy one (so we walked out) and the other was sold out from under us. *sigh*So we're looking for a new car. Bah.Anyway, this brings me to the rabbit point- I've been a bit overwhelmed between my new job and my "it seems like a full time ...
