Brief History

No one knows the origin of Flemish Giants for sure. They were in Europe during the 16th and 17th century. There is some records that indicate the breed may have originated in South America. Records of travelers from Flanders in the 1860's was the first verifiable record of the Flemish Giant. The national breed club was formed in 1915 in the United States.
