Brief History

The harlequin originated in France. It was first shown in France in 1887. They started as a cross between Dutch and another breed, and originally looked like a poorly marked dutch. They have been shown in the US since the 1920's. They were most recently accepted back into the ARBA in 1973 in Detroit.
